The 4th Audit Diwas will be celebrated on 16 November 2024 in the premises of the Office of the CAG of India at New Delhi. The event will be attended by Shri Girish Chandra Murmu, CAG of India, Senior Management of the CAG’s organisation, Principal Accountants General/Directors General/Accountants General/Principal Directors from all the field offices in India and in CAG HQ, senior officers posted in Delhi and invited dignitaries including members of the CAG’s Audit Advisory Board and senior officials from various Ministries & Departments.
Many activities have been planned for Audit Diwas 2024, starting with precursor events on 11th and 13th November 2024 on which new value added products prepared by the various functional wings in the CAG’s office will be released by the CAG. These include Compendia on Audit of the Education Sector, Audit of implementation of the 74th Constitutional Amendment Act, Assets accounts of Mineral and Energy resources, Water Resources, Annual publication on State Finances for 2022-23 and an e-book on assessing the impact of audit of the Indian Railways.
Several events have been organised in addition to the main ceremonial event, on 16 November 2024. The final round of the Quiz Competition for students from colleges located in Delhi NCR will be held. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the quiz competition, as well as to the winners of the National Essay Writing Competition, which was held earlier on 4 October 2024 for college students all over India. The day also brings eager anticipation among employees of the organisation, with two major events, one being the valediction ceremony of the IA&AS Officer Trainees batch of 2022 and the other being the CAG’s awards for innovation and excellence in public auditing and accounting.
There will be other technical releases such as launch of the Central Knowledge Repository, release of subject-based Compendia, the fourth edition of ‘The Catalysts’, which is a compendium on new initiatives and best practices; and two coffee table books highlighting the achievements of the organisation. A video showcasing how AI can be used to prepare podcasts of Audit Reports will also be presented.
Apart from these activities, Audit Week will also be observed in the field offices across the country during the week immediately following Audit Diwas, aimed at expanding outreach to our stakeholders and society at large and demonstrating our contributions towards good public governance.
